Shadow AI discovery

What Telara can see from identity-provider sign-in logs — and what visibility does not imply about metering or control.

What detection means

Seen ≠ governed

Shadow AI lists distinct AI tools that appear in IdP / SSO sign-in logs, including tools you have not formally connected. Detection means Telara can see the tool was used for sign-in — not that Telara can meter spend or enforce policy on it.

Detected

A sign-in event named this tool. It shows up in discovery so admins know what is in use.

Governable

A connector path exists. Connect the platform to start metering and applying governance.

Shadow tools

No connector yet

Tools marked Shadow — no connector have no integration path yet. Their spend and usage are not metered, and Telara cannot gate them until a connector ships.

An empty Shadow AI list means no AI-tool sign-ins were reported for the period — or the identity source could not be read. It is not a claim that nobody in the organization uses AI tools outside Telara.
