What Telara does
Capability matrix
Before you connect
Prerequisites
A Kafka cluster Telara can reach (bootstrap brokers).
[object Object]
Vendor setup
Get the credential
1
Collect bootstrap brokers
Copy the bootstrap server list (hostname and port).
2
Collect the auth material
Create a dedicated principal for Telara. Copy SASL username and password, or the TLS keystore fields the form asks for. Do not paste a human SSO session.
3
Paste in Telara
Settings → Integrations → Kafka. Enter bootstrap servers and the auth fields Telara shows. Start with the topics Telara should read; widening later is safer than granting the cluster super-user.

Knowledge
What gets indexed
| Resource | Coverage |
|---|---|
| Topic schema | Partial — not every record the vendor holds is synced |
| Consumer group | Partial — not every record the vendor holds is synced |
Sync
Freshness & sync
| Resource | Lag | Deletions |
|---|---|---|
| Topic schema | Up to 1 day | Removed records disappear on the next full sync |
| Consumer group | Up to 10 minutes | Removed records disappear on the next full sync |
Data handling
Permissions & data handling
Telara has not published a permission list for this connector yet. Treat the vendor consent screen as the source of truth until this page lists scopes.
Excluded from semantic search: Topic schema, Consumer group.
After connect
Verify it worked
After you save, Telara runs a read-only check against the account. The integration shows as connected when that check succeeds.
Honesty
Known limitations
A connect that authenticates but cannot describe the topics you care about looks empty.
Private-network clusters need a path Telara can reach (peering, allowlist, or a reachable bootstrap).
